Children at Bright Horizons Rosehill Day Nursery and Preschool in Cheltenham recently took part in a construction exercise using bricks.
The exercise came about after one of the children asked a staff member for something to stick the bricks together, so the staff member suggested using sand and water, and as such an exercise was then set up in the construction area using bricks and the sand and water mix to build and construct.
“The staff saw an interest and stepped in by using real bricks, sand and water that they had to mix,” said Nursery Manager Sarah Jones. “This was an activity that started to be enjoyed by other children within the nursery. They carried out their own risk assessment and went on a walk to the local building site to see this process first hand.”
