Employers from Cedar Park Day Nursery in Twyford have visited The Piggott School in Wargrave to speak to students who may want to consider taking an apprenticeship in the future.
The Health and Social Care students heard how a an apprenticeship could be the ideal stepping stone into a career in early years and learned about the different vocational and academic opportunities open to them.
The event was celebrated by the nursery and school to mark National Apprentice Week which aims to bring together employers and apprentices from across England to celebrate the success of apprenticeships over the last decade and will seek to encourage even more people to choose apprenticeships.
Cedar Park Manager Emma Kemp, who met with students said: “Apprentices are a valued asset at Childbase and as an award-winning, employee-owned company we are keen to attract talented young people into the early year’s profession. It was great to meet so many bright and enthusiastic students and hopefully some of them will be inspired to start a rewarding career in childcare in the future.”
