World Book Day Celebrations at Little Learners

Children aged five and under are having lots of literary fun today, celebrating their favourite stories for World Book Day.

Youngsters at Little Learners Private Day Nursery in Clayton-le-Moors came dressed as their favourite characters, and brought their favourite books in to nursery to share with their friends.

All kinds of exciting characters are celebrating at the nursery today; with Snow White, Peppa Pig’s Dinosaur, The Stick Man, pirates, princesses and superheroes all in attendance.

Nursery Manager at Little Leaners Nicola Sledden said: “World Book Day is a great way to make reading even more exciting for the children, and we were absolutely thrilled with the fantastic costumes our little ones wore to nursery. A wide variety of different characters came to nursery, showing that Accrington’s little ones enjoy all different kinds of books.

“It’s very important for children to develop a love of reading at a young age, which is why we like to make reading fun for our little ones. By the time the children are ready to go to school, we aim for them to have developed a passion for reading that we hope will continue throughout their lives.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our families for helping the children to pick out their costumes, and helping us to make literature even more fun.”
