Pennypot Day Nursery in Chobham is celebrating after three of its graduates successfully beat over 100 applicants competing for 30 places at one of the country’s top schools.
Twins Kyra and Amyra Sarin and Sophie Robert Shaw – all four-year-olds graduating from the day nursery in Pennypot Lane – have been accepted at Guildford High School which is rated third in UK league tables and voted Independent Prep School of the Year 2015 to 2016.
Following relocation to Guildford, Richa and Ritul Sarin, parents of the twins who have been at the day nursery since they were 12 months old and can both read and write three-letter words, often spend up to three hours in the car daily to keep their daughters at Pennypot.
“They have always been very happy at the nursery so we didn’t want to move them and disrupt their learning journeys. The staff team have given us all every possible support to ensure the girls were confident and happy about the assessment and looking forward to starting school,” said Mrs. Sarin.
Celebrating the successes at Pennypot, Deputy Manager, Carol McDonough said she was delighted for all the successful graduates who would be sadly missed by the nursery team.
“All the girls are kind, caring and confident individuals who share an enthusiasm for learning and are clearly ready for the next exciting step in their learning journey. This is what we strive for at Pennypot so we couldn’t be more delighted or proud of them,” she said.
“Sophie was six months old when she started - her sister also came here - and the twins were a year old. Saying goodbye to them and their families is very difficult,” she added.
