Ofsted has rated Asquith’s Southampton Day Nursery ‘Outstanding’ in its latest inspection and praised the nursery for having ‘inspirational staff’.
Inspectors found ‘children are effectively challenged in the highly stimulating environment and become independent learners’ and said ‘staff have high expectations of all children and they are valued equally’.
They also found ‘children form extremely secure emotional attachments with staff’ and ‘staff carefully adapt routines to take full account of each child's stage of development’.
Children at the nursery take regular exercise and especially enjoy being outdoors, investigating the natural world, according to Ofsted.
Staff also support parents with home learning, such as recipe cards and activity bags to use with their children.
In response to the report, nursery manager, Becky Bolt said: “We are so pleased at receiving our ‘Outstanding’ in December 2016. We always strive to ensure our children are making exceptional progress throughout their journey at Southampton Day Nursery.
“We will continue to enhance the outdoor area with imaginary play and ensure high standards are maintained for our children. I would like to thank my staff, parents and children for their ongoing support and dedication to the nursery and to celebrate with us on achieving this ‘Outstanding’.”
Southampton Day Nursery is based in the David Lloyd Leisure Club in Nursling, Southampton and is the latest of Asquith Day Nurseries and Pre-schools to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted. The total amount of ‘Outstanding’ rated Asquith nurseries is now 32.
Asquith Day Nurseries and Pre-Schools was acquired by Bright Horizons in November last year.
