Pupils at Weston Green School in Thames Ditton recently enjoyed a special Science Week.
Children aged 3-11, from the school’s Kindergarten classes up to Year 6, took part in a wide range of themed activities throughout the week, including launching their own rocket in the playground and observing a spectacular science show from the Science Boffins.
Pupils also spent time on their own science projects, which were shared at the end of the week.
Headteacher, Mr Mike Harrison, said: “Theme Weeks like Science Week provide a great opportunity to enrich our timetable. The children have all accomplished a great deal in terms of their own learning and personal development and it has been fantastic to see the excitement on so many faces this week.”
“The science projects were stunning in their depth and creativity and perhaps the impact of the week is best summed up by one child who said to me 'I feel like I've been in a science workshop' on emerging from one of the classrooms on our tour round all of the projects. It has been a most memorable week and epitomised the Weston Green strapline of 'learning with joyful enthusiasm'.”
