Children at Bright Horizons Macintosh Village Day Nursery and Preschool in Manchester celebrated Remembrance Day by making their own poppies and attending a local parade.
Each child made their own poppy which they then wore in attendance at the Remembrance Day parade in Manchester city centre. They watched on as attendees paid their respects and laid wreaths at the cenotaph.
Staff and children then took part in the two-minute silence and afterwards showed others in attendance the poppies they had made.
“The children had a great day learning about Remembrance Day and attending the parade,” said Nursery Manager Chloe Barwick. “The children were very proud to show off the poppies they had made and were keen to pay their respects to those who served in the war.”
