A local nursery is holding a summer fete to help raise money for a local girl’s cancer treatment.
Staff at Sunny Days Private Day Nursery in Ellesmere Port have arranged the fundraising event for Erin Cross, a five-year-old girl from Chester who is due to go to America for Car T-Cell Therapy.
Erin has suffered from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia since she was just two years old. She is in need of a lifesaving bone marrow transplant but would be unable to undergo the procedure without first receiving the Car T-Cell Treatment, which is only available in America.
Thanks to the generosity of individuals, businesses and organisations all over the world, the Cross family managed to raise the £140,000 they needed to pay for the procedure. The Erin Cross Appeal is still receiving donations to help with Erin’s aftercare.
The Sunny Days Charity Summer Fete - which takes place on Saturday 9th July - will send all funds raised to the Erin Cross Appeal.
An array of exciting family activities will take place at the fete including face painting, balloon modelling, games, prizes, refreshment stalls and more. Entry is free and anyone who would like to join in the fun is welcome.
Jessica Wharton, Nursery Manager at Sunny Days said: “At Sunny Days our priority is providing excellent care for the children in our local community. This extends to children like Erin Cross, who need an extra special helping hand.
“We hope the people of Ellesmere Port will join us in raising as much money for Erin and her family as possible on what promises to be a fun-filled day.”
