Families at Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford have been taking part in a scarecrow building competition.
Providing parents with an opportunity to ‘get creative’ with their child, the competition is one of many activities taking place throughout the year to support parent engagement.
An overwhelming response has seen the nursery garden decorated with scarecrows of all shapes and sizes. Selecting one winner from each room will be a difficult process with Juliana Di’Niro, Nursery Manager, saying: “Our families have put a lot of time and effort into making their scarecrows and it will be very hard to pick winners. I will be asking the children to help support me by picking their favourite scarecrow in each room.”
The winning families will each receive a small prize and the title of ‘Best Scarecrow 2016’.
