Children at Bright Horizons Broadgreen Day Nursery and Preschool in Liverpool have been enhancing their reading skills as part of the organisation’s Growing Readers programme.
The children selected their favourite story “The Enormous Turnip” as a group and then each took turns individually to read out parts of the book to each other. They also used props to create the story as they were doing so.
“The children have shown a great appetite for reading in recent weeks and were excited to be given the chance to read out loud to one another,” said nursery manager Stephanie Beesley. “They had so much fun reading the story to all their friends.”
The Growing Scientists programme aims to cultivate a love of books while emphasising the importance of reading aloud. For more information visit: https://www.brighthorizons.co.uk/family-resources/growing-readers
