Children at Bright Horizons Highgate Nursery in London have celebrated Black History Month by taking part in a variety of activities.
Staff taught the children a song about Martin Luther King Jr and then they all looked at images of him on the computer.
The children were then treated to an Afro-American inspired lunch before making ‘I have a dream’ clouds. As part of that activity, the children cut out images from a selection of magazines to put their dreams on. Each child came out with a drawing stating what their dream was.
“We were delighted to celebrate Black History Month and the children thoroughly enjoyed doing so,” said Nursery Manager Leighann Street. “The events we discussed make up a very important part of world history and we were delighted to share the information about Martin Luther King and others with the children.”
