Children at Bright Horizons Hinchley Wood Day Nursery and Preschool in Esher, Surrey visited their local supermarket in search of healthy snacks, as part of Growing Up Healthy Week.
The children collected a variety of fruit and vegetables that they will now use to make healthy smoothies within the nursery. They will also use them for painting and also sensory exercises, where each child will attempt to identify a fruit or vegetable using different senses.
“The children have been learning about the importance of a healthy diet and are now looking forward to using their fruit and vegetables to make smoothies,” said Nursery Manager Julie Court. “They all thoroughly enjoyed their day out and are looking forward to the next time they go to the supermarket.”
