Children at Bright Horizons Court Oak Kindergarten in Harborne, Birmingham have recently been discussing the change in seasons and how that affects the environment around them.
The children recently noticed the change in leaves and decided to create an area where they could explore further and talk about Autumn. Each child collected their own leaves and placed them in the designated Autumn area inside the nursery, to compare with others. They subsequently painted them as part of Bright Horizons’ Growing Artists programme.
“The children have been intrigued to learn more about the four seasons and what changes they can see as we go through each one,” said Nursery Manager June Price. “We are going to continue with this by going on a nature walk around the local area.”
The Growing Artists programme encourages children to show creativity in art.
