Children at Bright Horizons North Cheam Day Nursery in Sutton have been studying different artistic techniques as part of Bright Horizons Growing Artists programme.
The children took paint outdoors and dipped balls into the paint before rolling them on to pieces of paper. This artistic technique created lots of shapes, images and designs and the children used their imagination to explain what the shapes looked like.
“It’s important the process of learning is be enjoyed by the children,” said Nursery Manager Sarah Burge. “Often emphasis is placed on our children’s paintings or little cut out shapes, but we forget that it’s the experience of painting, drawing or cutting that matter most to our child’s development.”
Bright Horizons’ Growing Artists programme aims to encourage children to be creative in art.
