Bright Horizons Teddies Basingstoke nursery recently held its annual summer fete, with all the money raised going towards the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
The fete managed to raise £311 for the foundation on the day and featured refreshment stalls, a fire engine, hook-a-fish and a raffle, while the children also had the opportunity to get their face painted.
“Our summer fete was an enjoyable day for everyone and the children were excited to see the local fire crew and fire engine,” said Deirdre Mellors, nursery manager. “The foundation is a cause close to our hearts and we are delighted to support it.”
Set up in 2005, the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s sole purpose is to help children and families in crisis. They achieve this by working with local community groups, shelters and with Bright Horizons clients to create Bright Spaces®, which are indoor and outdoor play spaces located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges and refugee centres.
The spaces are created in order to provide children and families in need with a special place to play, have fun and most of all feel safe.
