Children at Bright Horizons Kidsunlimited North Cheam Day Nursery and Preschool in Sutton have been busy designing and taking part in their own obstacle course.
The course included walking, climbing, crawling and maintaining balance, in an activity part of the company’s Active Athletes programme.
The children got the chance to test new and develop their own physical skills, in order to learn more about the ones they currently have.
“The obstacle course presented a range of new challenges for the children, all of which they passed with flying colours,” said Nursery Manager Sarah Burge. “Everyone had lots of fun while participating in this healthy, physical activity.”
The Active Athletes programme creates opportunities for children to take part in physical activity throughout the course of the day. Physical development is also a key aspect of the Early years Foundation Stage, a process followed by all of the company’s nurseries.
