Children and staff from Kiddi Caru’s Basingstoke day nursery had a royal time last week celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday.
On Thursday and Friday the children made crowns and held their own royal parade around the nursery’s garden. The whole nursery was decorated with lots of Union Jacks and balloons to mark the occasion and there was also a royal themed dress up day. Each room made a giant birthday card for the Queen and on Thursday afternoon families were invited to a celebratory afternoon tea party. The children also planted a tree in the garden so they could remember this special occasion.
Gemma Hobden, Nursery Manager, explained: “The children adore the Queen and learning all about the Royal family. They also love celebrating birthdays so having the chance to enjoy lots of royal themed activities and have a tea party to commemorate the Queen’s 90th birthday created a huge amount of excitement. We had a fabulous couple of days and hope that the Queen enjoyed her special day as much as we did on her behalf.”
