Happy Days are a proven high quality childcare provider, who have just achieved 7 Ofsted Outstanding judgements in a row for its settings in Cornwall – 5 of those since January 2016. St Minver in Rock near Wadebridge, Penair in Truro and Treloggan in Newquay all retain their previous Outstanding judgements with Penrice and St Blazey in St Austell achieving their first Outstanding, making Happy Days the only nurseries/pre-schools in St Austell having achieved this highest Ofsted award. These five Outstanding judgements follow Treloweth’s (Redruth) inspection last year, a setting that has retained its outstanding judgement through three consecutive Ofsted frameworks, and Treliske (Truro) who also achieved their first Outstanding judgement in this framework.
Jackie Arthur, Managing Director said: “I’m thrilled that our policy of placing children at the centre of every decision we make is clearly evident in the quality of experience that every child receives in our nurseries. This external recognition from Ofsted validates our business decision that high quality is the driver of an outstanding company.”
The Happy Days Model has been perfected from drawing together international best practice and key messages from research. The results of which are innovative nursery environments created to deliver the very highest quality child care, focused on maximising children’s learning potential. Jo Beighton, Childcare and Education Director said: “I’m delighted that the dedication of our staff teams to provide the very best for the children in our care and the investment we have made in staff training, nursery resources and environments has been recognised. To achieve 5 outstanding assessments within a 12-week period is a tremendous and unique achievement.”
Since its formation in 1991, thus celebrating its 25th Birthday this year, Happy Days has developed into a leading operator, with a strong management team and well-developed infrastructure. With 16 nurseries across Devon and Cornwall, and over 50% of these settings achieving Outstanding with all other settings rated Good, Happy Days is due to widen access to high quality childcare and early-years education by opening a third setting in Bristol this year, and extending its presence across the South by opening a purpose-built setting in Poole, Dorset. Expansion is set to continue through 2017 with further settings opening across the South and South West.
