A childminding service inspired by the positive work of a local baby hospice charity raised £200 and delivered gifts in time for Christmas.
Sophie Johnson, 21, from Little Learners Nursery in Scorton, near Richmond, decided to launch an appeal at the nursery for Zoe's place in Middlesbrough after hearing about the work they do for terminally ill babies.
Owner of Little Learners Nursery and Miss Johnson's mum, Lesley, said she was proud of her daughter's efforts.
"Sophie works in the baby room at the nursery and was just really touched by the work of Zoe's place. She came up with the idea to have a tree with different gifts or donations people could make hanging from it, and people could chose how much to give. We went to deliver the donations in time for Christmas and we were just bowled over by what Zoe's Place does - it's difficult not to be."
Mrs Johnson added "I think we will be doing more fundraising for Zoe's Place in the future, it's a wonderful charity."
