Children and staff at Kiddi Caru’s Peterborough day nursery are busy preparing for the Open Day to celebrate the launch of their fabulous new garden.
Between 10.00am and 12.00pm on Saturday 20 February, the nursery will be hosting an Open Day with special guest Roo, the company mascot ready to cut the ribbon.
Local garden centre, Dobbies will also be on hand to help with planting and expert gardening advice and will be providing seeds and equipment on the day.
As part of the celebrations one of the playrooms will be set up as a café baking cakes using the new nursery cooker. Throughout the week before the children will be decorating plant pots, which will then be planted out on the Saturday
As well as a mud kitchen, wormery and fantastic water feature, the new garden also contains a cycle track which the children have been using to learn road safety as well as a mark making area and baby garden. The staff have focused on features that provide the children with an inviting and learning rich environment, and plenty of opportunities to have fun.
Emma Austin, Nursery Manager, said: “We are really looking forward to our Open Day and to welcoming families and friends to our new garden. We had a lovely garden here but as part of our continuous investment in enhancing the indoor and outdoor environment for the children in our care we felt that it could be made even better. The children loved being able to put their own ideas into the mix and are delighted to see the end result. It really is a fantastic space for the children to use whatever the weather.”
