As part of its on-going support for Home-Start UK, Kiddi Caru’s nineteen day nurseries have held a series of fund-raising Winter Wonderland activities as part of the charity’s annual Snowflake Appeal raising well over £1500.
The snowy celebrations saw children at the nurseries enjoying making snowflake decorations, snowflake experiments, snowflake cookies, singing snowflake songs and creating their own snowflake dances. There were also lots of festive and snow themed arts and crafts activities as well as snowflake themed reception areas.
Snowflake Appeal merchandising such as enamel pin badges, gift tags and Christmas cards were also available to purchase from the nurseries to help raise funds.
The Snowflake Appeal, which runs from 1 November to 31 January, is fronted by TV’s Kirstie Allsopp and was launched by Home-Start in 2013. Funds raised by the Snowflake Appeal help to ensure that Home-Start’s volunteers based at 300 centres around the UK have the training and support they need to continue to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
As part of the initiative prizes were up for grabs for the nursery with the most creative and unusual snowflake idea with first prize being scooped by the chain’s Bedford nursery and for the setting with the most creative Winter Wonderland themed reception area which was claimed by the Whiteley nursery. Both competitions were judged by the team at Home-Start UK.
Caron Moseley, Marketing Manager, said: “This year’s Snowflake Appeal was even better than last year and the children and staff all had a wonderful time. Our nurseries excelled themselves in their creative snowflake themed ideas and it was wonderful to have Home-Start UK involved in judging the two competitions."
“We are very excited to be supporting Home-Start UK throughout the coming year and have some great ideas about what we can all do to help raise funds for this worthwhile charity."
