Children from Active Learning Finchley nursery and preschool have been learning that Christmas time is about giving and helping others.
The staff together with parents and children have been collecting various gifts for victims of domestic violence who are currently in a refuge, which has previously been supported by the nursery’s foundation, The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
Eighteen women with children, who are fleeing from domestic violence, will spend this Christmas in the temporary accommodation.
"With our contribution we wanted to try to make a difficult time a little bit brighter,” explains Poppy Hinton, the nursery principal. “Overall it was a great experience that encouraged kindness and empathy and allowed the children to feel proud and to realise they can make a difference even at an early age.”
