One morning a little girl called Flow discovered that a Christmas fairy decorated the nursery’s Christmas tree at the Bright Horizons Summerfields Day Nursery (formally kidsunlimited) on Dean Row.
As any curious child, she noted that the Fairy forgot to put some ‘sweeties’ on the tree. This gave the nursery staff an idea to create edible but healthy Christmas decorations, after much thought and help from the nursery staff they decided to create gingerbread biscuits with dried fruit and raisins, which were then beautifully wrapped and added to the nursery’s awe inspiring Christmas tree.
Amongst other festive activities the children also created a magical post-box and posted their letters to Santa. “I asked Father Christmas for a bike” Amelia said keenly and “ I want a dolly," explained Isla.
Nursery Manager, Laura Brown, explains: “We have really embraced the Christmas spirit in our nursery with a variety of fun and educational activities that have already taken place and that are planned over the next couple of weeks. Plan activities include a very special Christmas party, in which the children will be singing Christmas carols for their parents, and who knows we may get a surprise visit by Santa himself.”
