Wayne Gregory, Nursery Apprentice at Bright Horizons Jack Straws Lane, Oxford, has been shortlisted for the Nursery Apprentice of the Year Award, at the 2015 National Nursery Management Today (NMT) Awards.
The National NMT Awards are the sector’s premier annual event, recognising the excellent practice, innovation and success of those within the Early Years sector.
The Nursery Apprentice of the Year Award honours a practitioner who aspires to deliver the very best standard of childcare every day, excelling in their personal and team role and exhibiting enthusiasm, professionalism, confidence and a shining commitment to their ongoing career development. Wayne joined Bright Horizons through the Early Years Apprenticeship Programme and immediately excelled. In addition to completing his Level 2 childcare qualification, Wayne is currently finishing his Early Years Educator and Level 3 Forest School qualification and has also taken on additional responsibilities, including the role of ICT champion and delivering the nursery’s World Class Welcome programme for new team members. He is recognised to be the driving force behind the nursery’s outdoor learning areas, a role-model to colleagues, and an exceptional practitioner for the children and families he supports.
The annual awards evening will take place on Saturday 28 November 2015 at the Hilton London Metropole. Nicola Amies, Director of Early Years at Bright Horizons, said, “I’m absolutely thrilled that Wayne has been nominated for this award. Wayne is a passionate and professional practitioner, and a dynamic learner who takes great pride in his development. His commitment, enthusiasm and imagination is inspiring and this award would be wonderful achievement.”
