Staff, parents and children certainly have plenty to celebrate following Ofsted’s latest visit to Chuckle Bunnies in Burton.
We are delighted to report that inspectors rated our nursery ‘Outstanding’ for its contribution of early years’ provision to the wellbeing of children’ and gave us a ‘Good’ rating overall.
We were also rated ‘Good’ for the effectiveness of the leadership and management of our early years’ provision.
At Chuckle Bunnies the health, happiness, development and general wellbeing of all children in our care is always our main priority, and it’s great to see that commitment formally recognised by Ofsted.
Inspectors noted that children quickly settle and flourish during their time with us because staff are “extremely caring and attentive to their individual needs.”
And, having staff numbers that exceed the required level for under twos “results in exceptional arrangements to care for children, support their health, emotional well-being and physical development,” said Ofsted.
It found that children behave well because staff praise their efforts and use humour to gently discourage unwanted behaviour. And Ofsted has praised the way in which our staff make play educational as well as fun.
It said: “Staff creatively use the activities that children enjoy most during their self-chosen play to provide learning opportunities, such as linking letters with sounds, drawing and counting.”
“Older children are able to recognise letters and write their name. Children confidently use numbers such as when they count lots of fingers and when they hop up and down.”
Inspectors were impressed that our children have access to fresh air and exercise, even when it is raining, and are supported by staff to serve their own snacks, pour their own drinks and wash their hands without prompting. They also noted that babies are “monitored exceptionally well” while sleeping through the effective use of monitors which alert staff to sudden changes in a baby’s sound or movement.”
In its key findings, Ofsted praised our comprehensive training which ensures that children in our care are safeguarded.
The inspectors also applauded our staff’s ability to develop secure attachments with children, enabling boys and girls to quickly develop a sense of belonging and grow in confidence. As a result, said Ofsted, the children are ready to learn and are well prepared for starting school.
Inspectors found that children, including those with special educational needs, thoroughly enjoy their time at the nursery and are making good progress.
They added that those children who speak English as an additional language are well supported to maintain their home language and become competent in English.
Ofsted also commented on the good quality of teaching and the leadership team’s strong commitment to promoting high quality childcare provision. It added that the management team “has an extensive knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.”
Needless to say, Chuckle Bunnies is thrilled with all these findings and would like to say a big thank you to all our dedicated staff for their immense contribution.
We’d also like to thank parents for making us your nursery care provider of choice. These recent findings clearly show that that the trust and confidence you place in us is well founded, and we are extremely grateful for your ongoing support.
