Successful Lancashire Nursery Acquired by Corporate Buyer

Redwoods Dowling Kerr are delighted to announce the sale of Kapers Day Nursery; a well-known and highly respected children’s day nursery, which is prominently situated in the popular coastal resort of Blackpool, in Lancashire. The sale had originally involved two sites, with an agreement in place that the overall sale would see that the two sites are brought together. Kapers Day Nursery was eventually acquired by a private corporate buyer that Redwoods Dowling Kerr have already worked with in the past.

Kapers Day Nursery is located within an established and densely populated residential area, within easy reach of the motorway and with the major commuter routes and public transport facilities close at hand. The nursery is therefore conveniently located for attracting children from the adjacent locality, as well as being popular with parents who travel en-route to their workplace.

The nursery is registered for 35 children; providing care from three months through to eight years of age. Having successfully operated in the town for many years by the vendor, Mrs Jurin, this well-known nursery has earned a truly enviable reputation – benefiting from healthy occupancy levels and enjoying regular referrals and recommendations. Mrs Jurin only decided to bring the business to the market due to her wish to retire from the childcare sector and focus on her other business interests.

The business operates from a substantial and imposing detached property, providing well-appointed nursery accommodation with vibrant décor - creating a stimulating environment. The nursery is equipped to a high standard with a good range of quality toys, learning aids and resources which are required to operate such a thriving nursery.

In light of the above, Kapers Day Nursery provided a lucrative business opportunity, suiting an ambitious and hands on owner, or suiting an experienced operative who already has a presence within the childcare sector.

The day nursery was eventually sold to the corporate buyer on a freehold basis. Sale completion took five months. The vendor now has the reassurance that the buyer will now continue the years of hard work that went into Kapers Day Nursery, and cherish the nursery for many more years to come.

Matt Scott, from Coupe Bradbury Solicitors, who was involved in the sale transaction, commented: “We are delighted for our mutual client and wish her every success with her future plans. We have completed many deals with Redwoods Dowling Kerr and we look forward to completing many more.”

Sarah Ellison, Senior Childcare Negotiator, commented: “I am really pleased that we have come to the end of a successful completion. We wish both parties all the best for the future.”
