Fifty eight children from Peterborough’s Kiddi Caru day nursery celebrated their graduation with a special party for friends and family complete with a real graduation ceremony.
The children who graduated with their families watching including grandparents and siblings, enjoyed a disco, face painting, a bouncy castle, party food and the graduation ceremony itself. Each child was presented with a certificate and a little Kiddi Caru mascot ‘Roo’ and were able to keep the hats they had made. The children starting school in September then got the chance to say an emotional goodbye to the staff.
Emma Auston, Nursery Manager, said: “This is a time of great change for the pre-school children, and going up to ‘big’ school can be a little daunting for them. We do lots of activities to help to give them confidence and prepare them for the change and the graduation ceremony is a way of reassuring them that this is also a very special time. It marks their wonderful achievements at nursery and gets them excited about the new experiences and chances to learn that they will have at primary school.”
