Ugly Bugs Have A Ball At Kiddi Caru Basingstoke Day Nursery

The children at Kiddi Caru’s Basingstoke day nursery had a ball last week, when they celebrated National Insect Week by dressing up and holding an Ugly Bugs Ball Tea Party.

Throughout the week the children also learned all about the insect world, including witnessing the life cycle of butterflies – watching them grow and releasing them into the wild – and going on a bug hunt around the nursery’s garden. They also did lots of insect themed arts and crafts activities.

Suzanne Chilvers, Nursery Manager, said: “Insects are naturally fascinating to children, so it’s great for them to learn at a very young age how important they are to the ecosystem. They had a wonderful time at the Ugly Bugs Ball tea party and there were lots of weird and wonderful insect inspired fancy dress costumes on display!”
