Four members of the Kiddi Caru Day Nurseries head office team have completed their biggest task yet, as part of a fundraising partnership with family support charity Home-Start, raising £6,000 in the process.
The target was Snowden, but not just the climb. First the team completed a 20-mile cycle ride, before climbing the 3.72 miles, then another 20-mile leg of cycling, a 1.5 mile canoe trip around Lyn Gwynant, then a final off-road cycle.
All in all, the challenge took 9 hours and 47 minutes to complete, the sponsorship of which was boosted by a Family Week held by the Kiddi Caru nurseries, meaning a lot of effort and teamwork went into raising the £6,000 for Home-Start.
Marketing manager Caron Moseley reflected: “Everyone has worked really hard to raise money for our charity. The Snowdon Challenge is the hardest thing that we’ve ever done but it was a totally amazing experience. I am so proud of everyone both at Head Office and at our nurseries who got involved in the fundraising this year – the support and effort of everyone involved has been beyond compare. We are now just left with the question of how we can go one better next year!”
The funds will help the national family support charity to work closer with parents to build better lives for their children, achieved by providing support and friendship to more than 32,000 families every year thanks to the efforts of volunteers.
