Children at Kiddi Caru Colchester Dig Garden Activities

The children at Kiddi Caru’s Colchester day nursery have been taking advantage of the warmer weather recently, with lots of gardening activities to help them make the most of the great outdoors.

The babies have been making flower pictures using paint and flower stamps while the 1-2 year olds made bird feed to hang outside and also planted sunflower seeds that they can watch grow to great heights. All the children have also been experiencing and talking about the texture of soil using a sensory tray.

Laura Evans, Nursery Manager, said: “Our garden area is a wonderful space in which the children can explore and develop different skills. They have been enjoying lots of outdoor activities as the weather has started to get a little warmer and are now very excited about being able to watch their sunflower seeds grow. They have been trying to guess how tall they will be!”
