The staff and children at Happy Days Nursery, Treliske are celebrating achieving ‘outstanding’ status from Ofsted.
When the Inspector made her unannounced visit at the end of October, and following a full day of inspection, every category within her judgements was rated ‘outstanding’.
The Inspector was particularly complementary about the ‘highly conscientious and caring staff’ who use their knowledge of the individual children to provide tailored support and attention. This in turn leads to ‘the high quality teaching which allows the children to make outstanding progress in their learning’. Also praised were their very effective relationships with families and outside agencies, their strong emphasis on safety and healthy lifestyles and the culture of continual reflection. ‘Children’, she concluded, ‘feel very confident and secure and settle quickly into the nursery’.
As part of their continual improvement, the Inspector’s only recommendation was for the nursery to enhance the information they share with parents to help them promote their child’s learning at home.
Sharon Branch, Deputy Manager and Quality Lead said, ‘On one level, the inspection day was stressful but it did give all our staff the opportunity to showcase their practice and the children loved having a special visitor in the nursery and really rose to the occasion!’
Nursery Manager, Lisa Buist added, ‘We are absolutely delighted with this Ofsted report which recognises all the hard work, commitment and dedication of our amazing staff and the fantastic support we get from our children, their parents and the community. We intend to celebrate in style!’
