Parents and staff at Basingstoke’s Kiddi Caru day nursery are busy training for a ‘treadmillathon’ – an 11 hour treadmill relay – which they will be undertaking on Friday 14th November to raise funds for Children In Need.
The treadmillathon will start at 7.30am when the nursery opens and will continue until 6.30pm in the evening. Kiddi Caru’s ‘Roo’ mascot will also be taking part. As well as supervising the treadmillathon, the children will become baking, entertainment and fancy dress heroes for the day, with a cake sale, sing and sign session and fancy dress competition all taking place to raise extra money for Children in Need.
Suzanne Chilvers, Nursery Manager, said: “Our amazing parents are all very supportive and they didn’t hesitate to take on the treadmill relay challenge especially as it’s for such a good cause. We have so many fun activities planned for the children that they are really looking forward to the day and getting involved in fundraising for Children in Need. I am sure they’ll find time in between baking and entertaining to give the parents and staff plenty of support while they are doing the treadmillathon too.”
