Children and staff at Kiddi Caru’s Caldecotte day nursery have been having great fun during recent sensory day.
As part of the day children explore and got involved in all kinds of messy activities using a variety of materials including food and paint. Everyone was encouraged to take part and get messy using their hands to feel and touch lots of different items including grated cheese and shredded paper.
Louise Higgins, Senior Nursery Manager, said: “Everyone at the nursery loves the sensory days – it is a great excuse for everyone to roll up their sleeves and get really really messy! It is so important for children to be able to explore all of their senses and this messy play really helps them to understand what it is like to be to touch lots of different and on occasion strange objects.”
