As part of its ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality learning environment for its children, staff from Kiddi Caru’s Northampton day nursery have held a parents information evening.
Kiddi Caru has invested in a new Letters and Sounds training programme which focused on phonological awareness and is aimed at guaranteeing that Kiddi Caru continues to provide the best possible environment to support children in learning to read. The new training delivered skills to ensure that all team members could understand and implement best practice at all times.
The parents evening was held to highlight how parents can best support the letters and sounds work being done in the nursery to avoid any potentially confusing messages for the children.
Trina Frost, nursery manager, explained: “Here at Kiddi Caru we want to make sure that every child that comes into our nursery is given the best possible opportunity to develop the correct skills needed to become good readers, which is where the letters and sounds training comes in.
“Getting parents involved is one of the best ways that we can help support our children as we can see that the impact of the training sessions is making such a difference to them and we look forward to receiving feedback from the attendees about our letters and sounds evening.”
