Kiddi Caru in Harlow was awash with teddy bears yesterday, as the children were invited to bring their cuddly friends to nursery to celebrate Teddy Bear Day.
The children had teddy bear’s picnics and learned all about how what is one of their favourite toys came into being in the early 20th century, thanks to US President Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt.
Jennie Gregory, Nursery Manager, said: “Many children have a favourite teddy bear that becomes a constant companion, so they are more like friends than toys, which is why we thought it would be a lovely idea to join in the Teddy Bear Day celebrations. The children couldn’t believe that there was a time when teddy bears didn’t actually exist and now appreciate their teddies more than ever!”
