All the Fun of the Fayre!
The sun shone, Minnie Mouse and Peppa Pig joined us, the burgers sold out and everyone had fun! – at our Summer Fayre on 31st August. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the day, and to those who also made so many delicious cakes! We raised over £350 for Zoe’s Place which is great! Thank you!
As you will know, our chosen charity for this year is Zoe’s Place in Coventry. Zoe’s Place Hospices provide wonderful “home from home” environments for babies and infants from birth to five years old who have life limiting of life threatening conditions. We felt that this charity is ideal for our nursery to support. All the proceeds from our various fundraising events will go to Zoe’s Place for the next year. We have also a donation tin the nursery foyer if you wish to make a donation.
We have visited Zoe’s Place and it is certainly a very special place for the children. They do an incredible job to support the families.
Goodbye and Good Luck!
This month we have had to say goodbye to a few of our children: Euan Alemi, Lewis Paterson and Harry Champion are all starting school, and Monty Staton is moving out of the area. We will miss you all – please do keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on. Come and visit us too! Once a “Banana Mooner – always a Banana Mooner”!!
Welcome to Ali Thorne who has joined the Team! Ali will be with the children in Teenies. Ali is looking forward to meeting you all!
Becky has now left us, but the children will still see her during the holidays! She is not “escaping” that easily! Charlotte and Melissa are taking on the roles of Assistant Deputy Managers at the nursery.
Katie has decided to extend her maternity leave until February 2015.
Welcome to all our new families and children who have joined the nursery in September. It is lovely to see the nursery so busy and full of fun – and noise!
A big welcome too to a new little brother for Eddie Oldham! We look forward to meeting new “Baby Thomas Oldham”!
Everybody at nursery came into nursery on the 19th August in their pyjamas! – all the children and all the staff! What fun we had! Thank you to everyone who brought in the super prizes for the Summer Fayre tombola as part of the Pyjama Day!
Pre-School Graduation Party:
As well as Pyjama Day on the 19th August, it was also a very special day for our older Pre-School children who are leaving us in September to go to school. The children – all dressed in their pjs! – and staff too! – enjoyed a visit from Tropical Inc. The Pre-School room was host to parrots, hedgehogs, lizards, snakes, meerkats and a tarantula! What fun! Our leavers were all presented with their graduation certificate and a gift from their friends at Banana Moon. The day ended with a party tea! There were a few tears too! – from the parents and staff! Do come back and see us children! You know you are always welcome! Please enjoy the photos at the end of the newsletter and on our website!
Lapworth Scarecrow Festival:
Just for your information and interest, the Lapworth Scarecrow Festival is taking place on 13th/14th September in the village of Lapworth. Our Pre-School team have entered their own Banana Moon Hatton scarecrow, so please do go along. A really fun family day out including stalls and activities.
Autumn is on its way!
Now that the summer is nearly over, and the leaves are changing – so is the weather! Could we ask please that all children have a pair of wellies and a coat at nursery so that they can enjoy our outdoors. It would be a shame that the children could not go outside everyday because they don’t have the right clothing!
Jackie Ratcliffe, one of our Mums at nursery, has set up a new business – VIP Mummy which specialises in Mummy and baby gifts. Jackie is very kindly offering a 10 per cent discount to our nursery parents. Please visit www.vipmummy.co.uk.
The Baby Room has been having a refurbishment and a change around so we hope that the children will enjoy the new toys and fun activities! The babies have been enjoying doing “under the sea” activities, and lots of physical activity play – through the tunnel and in the ball pit!
The Teenies have been enjoying talking about people who help us. They have built their own fire engines! Come and meet our own team of Teenies Policemen! - and visit their Hatton Hospital!
After having been busy with their holiday theme, the Toddler team have been playing with, making and talking about all sorts of animals. Do visit the Toddler Room to see their fantastic dinosaur display! Watch out for the dinosaur feet!!
The Pre-School children have opened their new Travel Agency! Please do visit their room and book your next holiday with them! They are looking at places around the world. They are also starting a project on Autumn. A busy place!!
So another busy month in August with the variety of activities in all the rooms – and another fun month of September ahead! Please do take time to look at the displays in all the rooms! We have some very talented children at nursery!
A Moment in Time!
We know that there are lots of special moments for all the children – and we wondered whether you would take the time to share these with us – so that we can include these in nursery and in your child’s Learning Journey. These might include the arrival of a new brother or sister; your child’s first steps; first words – to name a few! Please let us share these with you!
Bella the Bear!
Last month we introduced you to Bella the Bear! Bella is in the Pre-School Room and has been on many adventures at the weekends, when she goes home with one Pre-School child. She has been to visit the physio, had fun on the rides at the funfair, enjoyed the zoo and the steam trains!
