Kathryn Learner, Early Years Specialist Teacher at Bright Horizons Nurseries has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to young children’s learning.
Kathryn has been shortlisted for the prestigious Nursery World Early Years Professional of the Year Award. This Nursery World award recognises practitioners who have gained Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) through one of the recognised pathways.
In her role, Kathryn, who achieved her Early Years Professional Status in March 2010, works closely with staff at a number of Bright Horizons nurseries to inspire staff teams to reflect critically on their practice and to look for ways to strengthen and further improve their pedagogical leadership of children’s learning and development.
Nicola Amires, director of Early Year’s at Bright Horizons, who nominated Kathryn, said: “Kathryn is an exceptional Early Years Professional, who in just over a year has made a significant impact on quality improvement on the nurseries she works at. Those she works with talk highly of her passionate commitment to ensuring every child has the very best care and learning experience at Bright Horizons and we are honoured to have Kat as part of our team.”
Kathryn, who is clearly delighted at being shortlisted, said, “I’m overjoyed at being nominated for this awards, it’s a great feeling to know that my passion and hard work is being recognised. I would like to thank everyone at Bright Horizons who has helped me develop this amazing career in childcare.”
The awards will be announced on September 27th at a glamorous event in London.
