Thirty children from Harlow’s Kiddi Caru day nursery celebrated their graduation at the weekend with a special party for friends and family complete with a real graduation ceremony.
Local children’s entertainer, Aunty Julie, provided entertainment on the day and there was also a cake cutting ceremony. The children leaving the nursery in September then got the chance to say an emotional goodbye to the staff.
Jennie Gregory, nursery manager, said: “This is a time of great change for the pre-school children, and going up to ‘big’ school can be a little daunting for them. We do lots of activities to help to give them confidence and prepare them for the change and the graduation ceremony is a way of reassuring them that this is also a very special time. It marks their wonderful achievements at nursery and gets them excited about the new experiences and chances to learn that they will have at primary school.”
