Celebrating over 2 decades of caring for local children, Sandfield Day Nursery in Oxford held a very special Summer Fete and Graduation Party.
Over 150 party-goers enjoyed the celebrations and raised £500 for charity with their tombola, cake sale and guess the number of balloons in a car. The nursery staff also had to reach for their hankies as they held a graduation ceremony for their pre-schoolers.
In thanking children and parents for the wonderful memories, Sandfield Manager, Kim Hambridge, echoed the mixed emotions expressed by all Childbase staff teams at this time.
"Everything we do here is focused on sending happy, confident and fully prepared children into mainstream schooling. We are celebrating that today but saying goodbye to children we have looked after since they were babies is very difficult."
"We are all very proud of what has been achieved at Sandfield in the last 21 years. We have a range of outstanding facilities and equipment, designed to inspire and feed the imagination, and a staff team that is not only highly trained and experienced but committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for each and every child in their care."
Describing the desire for improvement at the nursery as on-going, Kim said everybody was delighted that the latest project, the garden, had been completed in time for the celebrations. An investment on soft matting, a wonderful play road, nobo grass covering, a bridge, just to name a few of the new equipment. The staff finished the areas off with photographs, balancing beams, labelling, bats and balls, mud areas, quiet areas and have created some amazing areas for the children.
