Hanging out the bunting, children, staff and parents of Edwinstowe Nursery in Cambridge joined nation-wide celebrations for Employee Ownership Day. The celebrations included a garden party and bouncy castle for the children with a picnic tea to follow for children, staff and parents.
Edwinstowe Nursery Manager, Clare Grave explained:
“We are a unique partnership of shareholders invested in giving each and every child in our care the very best start in life. We are enormously proud of our nursery and our company.”
Wearing special commemorative caps, the staff created a display to explain what employee ownership meant at the nursery.
Ofsted inspectors reported “Each member is a visable presence in the rooms and they take great pride in knowing each child and family within the Nursery. Staff make this nursery an enjoyable place to be, consequently children become highly motivated and enthusiastic learners” – Ofsted Outstanding August 2013
Staff members and children worked together on creating a jigsaw puzzle piece which was sent to company headquarters to join pieces from 46 sister nurseries throughout the South of England.
