Skylon Executive Head Chef, Adam Gray, recently dropped by his local west London nursery, Teddies Raynes Park Nursery, for a cooking demonstration.
The result? An absolutely adorable chance for a small group of children to talk about food, make a manageable mess, cooperate in teams, eat something tasty, and learn some valuable lessons about the importance of a healthy diet.
The master class session took 20 minutes and the children were enthralled throughout and now all want to be mini MasterChef’s. During the session Adam, who clearly has innate knack for working with little ones, helped the children to make some delicious cereal bars, using minimal, easy to source, and inexpensive ingredients.
Sarah Tinniswood, Nursery Manager at Teddies Raynes Park, said, “I would like to thank Adam for coming into the nursery to teach the children about cooking, we all had a great time. Cooking within the nursery offers children a chance to develop their understanding of a number of different concepts relating to food — from different tastes and textures to weighing, measuring and counting.”
