Kiddi Caru’s day nursery in Writtle held its annual St George’s Day celebration on Saturday 26th April, complete with a hog roast, music and movement sessions hosted by Jo Jingles and a whole variety of fantastic traditional stalls including a tombola and hook a duck, all to raise funds for the NSPCC.
There were family favourites on hand such as a bouncy castle and face painting stall as well as a raffle, which also raised money for the NSPCC. The nursery staff demonstrated Yoga and French while Sing and Sign encouraged visitors to join in with one of its sessions. Jo Jingles gave visitors a hint of the type of music and movement sessions the children regularly take part in as part of nursery life.
Sue Hare, Nursery Manager, said: “We have a lot of fun at the nursery and our yearly St George’s Day celebration is our opportunity to invite people from the area to come along and join in. We’re very much a part of the community and it’s great to see the children, their parents and families and also local people having a great time together in our lovely garden area. As always, come rain or shine our visitors all seemed to have a wonderful time and we were pleased to have raised £362 for the NSPCC at the same time.”
