Childcare Expo, the show for all those working in the early years community, has announced the details of the educational and informative seminar programme that will be running throughout the two day event this September.
More Great Childcare
Anand Shukla, Chief Executive of the newly formed Family and Childcare Trust will be opening the line-up on the Friday morning. The new organisation, formed from the fusion of Daycare Trust and the Family and Parenting Institute, has almost 40 years experience of policy and campaigning on issues affecting families. Anand’s seminar will focus on early years policy updates and how they affect the sector with particular attention to developments in relation to More Great Childcare and the extension of the two year old offer.
Ofsted will be covering the topic ‘Getting to Good in the Early Years’ in Tim Vaughan’s presentation which will outline why Ofsted is proposing some changes to the framework for inspections from September and what these changes will mean for early years settings.
Friday afternoon will see three more sessions including a seminar from 4Children’s Head of Early Years Sue Robb on ‘Quality Counts’ where she will share with participants the early findings, challenges, solutions and learning emerging from 4Children’s Community Childcare Hub programme.
On the second day of the event, visitors will have the opportunity to explore topics such as ‘Risky Play’, ‘The Future of Funding’ and ‘Childcare, Not Just a Job’ from the seminar selection.
Let’s talk Outdoors
Gail Ryder Richardson from Outdoor Matters will be helping practitioners with ideas on developing their own outdoor spaces to support children’s acquisition of language. Giving practical ideas to help audit existing opportunities, this seminar promises to be another must see presentation.
Entry into the show is free and seminars will cost £9 + VAT per session when booked in advance and £15 Inc. VAT when purchased at the show. The exhibition is being held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on 27th – 28th September. To find out more about Childcare Expo please visit www.childcareexpo.co.uk or call us on 01425 838393.
