Children at High Bank Day Nursery have helped to raise money for charity after taking part in a fancy dress ‘toddlathon’.
The children walked from the nursery to the nearby village of Stapleton, stopping for a picnic snack.
Dressed as fairies, princesses, pirates and superheroes the youngsters, aged from one to five-years-old, all successfully completed the walk, raising over £300 (and still counting) in sponsorship for Barnados in the process.
Jennifer Thompson, Manager of High Bank Nursery, said: “The children and staff had lots of fun during the toddle and we are delighted to have raised money for such a worthwhile cause as Barnados.
“As part of the children’s development it is important to make them aware that there are other youngsters in the world less fortunate than themselves and that by taking part in events like this it is helping to raise money for charities that help these children.”
