Ms Elsom has joined the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA)’s national policy committee after spending 14 years working for Ofsted.
Ms Elsom said: “I am delighted to join NDNA’s National Policy Committee and I look forward to working with NDNA to promote quality for young children so that they can have the best start in life.”
Before retiring from her full time post at Ofsted she was responsible for early years policy and her career has involved a variety of roles including the inspection of early education, liasing with the Department for Education and training new inspectors.
The charity has welcomed Ms Elsom into her new role.
The NDNA is the membership association for nurseries, and provides nursery support, information and advice, and childcare training to nurseries throughout the United Kingdom.
