Children’s nursery group kidsunlimited announces a new Manager at their Timperley nursery as a result of successful In-house promotion.
Janette Schenk is returning to the Timperley-based nursery to take up the position of Nursery Manager, having previously worked at the setting in the role of Deputy Manager at the time it was opened, before transferring to a new nursery in Sale. Janette has 22 years’ experience in early years childcare and began her career with kidsunlimited 15 years ago. Having worked in several different kidsunlimited nurseries over the years, Janette is pleased to be returning to Timperley and is excited to see familiar faces and meet new people.
Janette’s promotion to Nursery Manager is just one example of kidsunlimited’s successful talent management and succession planning strategy. The Company invests in its employees and provides them with the necessary training and experience to support their development and career progression within the company. In 2011, 39 managers and deputies were identified as Development Potential or Ready for Next Step; 20 of these people progressed the following year in 2012, equalling a whopping 51% of 2011’s top talent pool either being promoted or moved to a lateral position which supported the business and filled key positions much faster than recruiting externally.
Kiran Elliott, kidsunlimited Talent Development Manager, said: “Here at kidsunlimited, we take great pride in training all of our nursery staff and providing them with a wealth of experience necessary to help them progress further within the company.
“Over the last few years, our succession planning has been what can only be described as triumphant. In 2012 we had 51 management vacancies, 40 of which were filled through internal appointments, which is equivalent to 78%. We believe that is a figure to be proud of.
“We’re really pleased that Janette Schenk will be returning to our Timperley nursery as manager as she has a wealth of experience working for kidsunlimited and great enthusiasm with the children.”
Over the last three decades kidsunlimited has become the fifth largest childcare provider in the UK with a network of over 60 well located and maintained nurseries.
