Tommies Childcare is proud to announce that it has achieved the Coventry & Warwickshire Workplace Charter Award. Tommies is the first childcare company to be commended for this award.
The Workplace Wellbeing Charter is a clear recognition of the positive way in which companies run their businesses and support their workforce.
"You should be commended for all your hard work, your commitment towards workplace health, your excellent calendar of activities and the impact of your communication around health issues." – Sharon Lindop, Business Development Officer at Coventry City Council
The Charter is a voluntary scheme, which consists of a set of locally and nationally agreed standards and is open to all private, public and voluntary sector organisations.
The charter focuses on the health and wellbeing of employees looking particularly at areas such as leadership, attendance management, health and safety requirements, mental health and wellbeing, smoking and tobacco-related ill health, physical activity, healthy eating, alcohol & substance abuse, disability and wellbeing, work life balance and flexible working.
Dame Carol Black presented Tommies with the certificate on Tuesday 19th March 2013 at the Making the Case for Health and Wellbeing at Work event, which took place at the Coventry Transport Museum.
