As part of a new ‘Go Green Campaign’ Treetops Nursery of Filmer Road, Fulham have been setting up workshops for their parents.
Arijana Sadiku who is ...... qualified and has been working with children aged 1-2years at the nursery organised a parent workshop providing useful tips for parents. Instead of throwing away their water bottles she has been re-cycling them into sensory bottles for the children in her room.
Sensory bottles are very easy to make and very beneficial to enhancing a child’s five senses. You can create a bottle by using water, a few drops of washing liquid and a few drops of food colouring it gives a lava lamp effect, or by adding a few drops of scented oils to cotton wool it can open a whole new world of imagination.
Samuel Spread and his mummy, Daisy Spread came along with other mummy’s to the parent work shop where they could both enjoy the experiences together.
Daisy Spread commented, “Sam really enjoys putting things into the bottles and he loves the varying smells and textures of the different materials. I found the workshop very interesting with using many materials I have laying around my house”.
Arijana commented, “Upon observation, the children in the are fascinated by the bottles spending lots of time exploring the many different types that have been made, the scented bottles are a favourite in the room”
Treetops will be continuing with parent workshops throughout the year and will be working towards a go green award.... watch this space!
