Leisure developers David Lloyd Leisure Group have announced a £300,000 investment into its York gymnasium in order to upgrade the features on offer in its children’s zone, which includes a new Tinies Childcare nursery offering 50 full-time day care places.
Operating 80 leisure clubs across the UK, the David Lloyd kids zones (DL Kids zones) are set up to provide for a versatile range of kids activities and family fun, with the York investment including an outdoor area, two studios, a classroom and a club crèche, while being ideal for enhanced term-time programmes and birthday parties.
Pleased to be operating in such a great facility, director at Tinies Childcare, Oliver Black, said: “The Tinies nursery at David Lloyd is a great example of a partnership. Children receive wonderful childcare and education with Tinies, as well as having access to the great physical facilities that David Lloyd has to offer, with elements like tennis, football and swimming all included at no extra cost.”
Head of sport, health and fitness for David Lloyd Leisure, Sarah Hobbs, says: “This latest investment will provide a fantastic opportunity for children to enjoy themselves in a safe and modern environment.
“We know that children who have positive sporting or active experiences at a young age are more likely to continue being active in adulthood. The DL Kids programmes are designed to provide the opportunities for children to get active, focusing on fun and participation and with practical facilities that work for the family as a whole.”
Due to open on July 23, the DL Kids zones is the second collaboration between David Lloyd Leisure and Tinies, combining effective early years education and care with a range of exclusive junior coaching programmes, including All Stars Tennis and swimming.
