Bright Kids at Studley are celebrating the success of their recent sponsored walk in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Cancer Research.
The fundraising event came about as one our preschool had heard on the Radio about the Walk for Harry Appeal and wanted the staff and children at Bright Kids Studley to help to raise money for people who were suffering with cancer.
Whilst battling an inoperable brain tumor himself, Harry Moseley was inspired to make a difference to all people with brain cancer when a friend of his who also had a brain tumor became very ill. In just over two years Harry organized and attended nearly 100 events to raise money for and awareness of Brain Cancer. Such events included setting up stalls outside supermarkets and at car boots selling home-made bracelets; delivering his PowerPoint presentation to businesses and schools; and also speaking at large public events to audiences of over 500 people.
Amy Ballinger our Events Coordinator arranged a sponsored walk to link with the Walk for Harry Appeal which took place on May 31st. All the children, staff and parents were invited along to the sponsored walk around Arrow Valley Lake. Amy said that although the weather was not as nice as it has been of late the children and staff managed a successful walk raising money for such a worthwhile cause.
